Celebrating creatives and live experiences
Basker chose Cohesion Labs to build their brand name, messaging and identity. Basker, then Stageblocks, had a brand name issue and a creative one. They needed an identity that appealed to a broad audience in the creative space that spoke their language and felt familiar, whilst being new and exciting. As consumer expectations of events have changed, the digital experience through discovery, booking and the event itself has changed with it. So far, no platform exists to meets the need for venues who are managing tighter budgets, site stability, ticket booking and more in one space, Basker is here to change that.
Our approach.
Inspired by the energy and buzz of live performance and cultural events, we engineered our key visual mechanic around the concept of illumination through spotlights. This can be achieved in an abstract way to frame and dissect content, or more literally in the logo mark helping to construct the 'B' of Basker. A premium font in ‘Bagoss’ was selected as it offered something uniquely identifiable in the space. Opting to move away from more common font libraries like Google, or adobe.
The resulting identity allows Basker to create visually engaging materials with a direct connection to the live events they help to power through AI technology. The colours chosen add warmth and vibrancy with specific attention paid to how they relate to imagery which can centre around the cultural events, locations and the event entrepreneurs who make it all happen.
The outcome.
Basker needed to cut through the noise of a cluttered, saturated web building landscape and ensure that its audience was met directly. We needed to speak to marketing teams in venues, smaller venue owners and individuals. We delivered a messaging framework, brand values, strap line and product feature descriptions in an engaging tone of voice.
Core brand identity, logo, colour palette, typography and core design principles were delivered in a Figma kit to offer quick development and implementation across their platform and other marketing materials.
