What’s the worst feedback you’ve ever received, and how did you deal with it?

In our eight years of designing and building brands, websites and communications platforms, we’ve had one single brief that we walked away from. That was because neither party, us, nor the client, had been diligent enough in the scoping process to understand exactly what they wanted to get from it, and what we were supposed to deliver. As a result, we now are rigorous in our scoping process and tell you *exactly* what we’re going to do, before we do it. It means there are no surprises, and no disappointments for either party.

Do you do FMCG brands?

Yes. All of the Cohesion Labs team has delivered for FMCG brands like United Biscuits, Unilever and Mars Inc. It’s not just tech and science brands we build.

What if I only need a brand audit?

Great, we can start with an audit to look at how your brand is performing across your marketing mix. We offer a scorecard/benchmarking performance audit that looks at your; brand look & feel, social performance, website performance (analytics review), and an evaluation of any other marketing efforts like exhibition collateral, out of home marketing, and key messaging.

I can just do this with AI? Why should I use you?

If you’re a founder who has enough time on their hands to spends days and weeks forcing 30+ years of understanding into ChatGPT or Nano Banana to get yourself a logo, then hop on to lovable to build a website, then absolutely go ahead. If this is what success looks like to you, then we wish you well. If you’re a founder who understands that skill and discipline is built through experience, then get in touch, and we’ll walk you through why we’re chosen by successful founders. The thing with LLM tools (at time of writing in early 2026), is that they don’t care. They don’t have context, and they don’t understand subtext. As our founder, Craig Stockwell, wrote on a blog not long ago, if you don’t understand what looks good, or what is “correct” - then you won’t be able to tell what’s wrong, or why something doesn’t work. Something as critical as your brand, the thing that builds trust, should not be handed off to an automaton that has no vested interest in challenging you, or showing you a different way to think.

Is this marketing?

In lots of ways, yes. And in others - no. Typically, an early process to build your brand identity and your v1 website (for example) are ways to signpost to the market that you’re ready for a conversation, but as for building leads, enquiries, partnerships, and the rest of the marketing mix, typically our process gets you to the point where you have everything ready to start marketing. Separate, category dependant, and budget dependant processes are needed to build this further, through things like SEO, events & exhibitions, keynotes and PR are all areas that Cohesion Labs can assist with, once the core of your brand is ready to shout about. Your brand is what the rest of your marketing is built around.

I’m a startup, and I like the work, but I’m not in tech or science… Can you deliver for me?

We don’t have a lot of budget, what can you do for us?

We try to assist as many people as we can in making their ideas come to life, we work with small budgets, and more full ones. Every quote we do is bespoke for the company, and the product, we are working on. Our minimum budget for new clients is found on our startup surgery page
